My music video is going to be performances based and also
narrative. I thought that, that would be the best way to get the impact this
video deserves and also it will hopefully keep the audience engaged with the
music video as they are watching it. My general idea to to have the hook's as
the more performance side of things. Where my artists will be shown singing.
the hooks repeat quite a lot in this song so that means that my artist will
have quite a lot of time on camera actually singing rather than acting. In the
narrative side, i will have an illustrative nature to it. For example in the
song Trey says " she picks up the phone,in my head i know I'm wrong"
in those bits I'm going to show the female character picking up her phone and
cutting to my artist hiding his head in shame. Those are the sort of thing i
will be looking to include in my music video. I also feel that for a better
impact i will make my music video black and white and slow it down at some
bits. This is because the track is quite slow and dull but still impactful on
the listener. One location i will hopefully film at is in Premier Inn, in one
of their bed rooms.
Idea
The aim for this music video is to be shot in black and white as i feel that it will be much more effective because its quite a sad low tempo song and if its done in bright colours i think it would contradict the lyrics and beat of the song.
To begin with as the music cuts out and the phone rings which has been pocket dialled by the male character, i will cut to a female character (males characters girlfriend) sat on her sofa about to pick up the phone, then as the voices of people speaking begin i will have the male character in bed with a female character getting quite physical sexually whilst cutting to the first female sat in her living room on the phone trying to work out whats going and who's voice she's hearing on the phone. From here i will cross cut between both scenes but mainly focus on the female sat on the sofa. I am going to do this because i want the audience to see her face clearly and see all the emotions she's feeling at that time. Theres a name that she says which is "Trey!" when she says this the main focus will now cut to the male character. As she says Trey the male character will wake up as if his just heard her calling her. He looks across to the other side of the bed and sees another woman in his bed and that when it hits him that he has done something very bad. At this point the male character picks his phone up and sees he has 15 missed calls from his girlfriend.
When the male character checks his phone she starts to contemplate whether or not she heard everything that happened with that other female or if she only heard a little bit, which he could try and lie out of. He goes over to the bathroom in shame and looks in the mirror which will show his face but it changes into three other faces which seem to be screaming at him. This is to show that his bad side got the better of him this time. Then it will cut to a face of his girlfriend in the mirror who seems to be behind him but as he turns around she's not there. The male character will then walk back into the bedroom and he sees that she left him a voice note saying "How could you!?" Now the male character start scrambling round for his clothes trying to put them on so he can go to his girlfriends house. How ever the other girl he was with is trying to hold him back saying to him "leave her" but he reuses to stay and pushes her out of the way.
I will then cut to the female getting in her car and driving away to a forest and throwing away things that the male character had given her as gifts and she also throws away pictures. However she drives to a place where they first met each other and she begins to burn everything. But before i show her burring everything i will cut to moments they shared together. One moment would be the place that they first met. Another moment would be both of them baking and putting flour on each other and laughing. I will repeat this moments and cross cutting to the male character reaching the girlfriends house and seeing that she's not there. Then he will think of places to try and find her and the only place he can think of is the place where they first met and thats when he drives towards her again to see whether she's there or not. I will keep cross cutting between the male, female and moments until the beat picks up a bit more from there i will cut to the male driving towards the place where they first met and when he gets there he sees her in the distances. He gets out of his car and he runs towards her as he runs towards her more flash backs of the memories they had flash in the in males mind, as he gets closer he can see the fire of clothes burning when he gets close to her he tries to hug her but she disappears into dust in his hands signalling that his a little too late.
