For this task we have to create an animatic storyboard for our music video. Last year we had to do a storyboard for our horror movie but they weren't very good ones. They were basic storyboards with very minimal detail which is why I think we lost quite a few marks. This year I want to rectify that and create a story board that looks presentable and also very professional. To do this I took to the only place I knew I could get the most knowledge on how to do that and the place is YouTube.
On YouTube I looked at a few videos and I gained some knowledge on each and every one of them. I learnt the main areas that can make an animatic more effective, such as pacing, visuals, timing and laying. I also learnt that in animation there's very little editing needed because you don't want to cut to much because animation you cut will already be most of the work that you've done already.
The YouTube clip below is one of the clips that I watched, which basically informs you of the main areas needed to make your animatic storyboard seem accurate to your main aim. They are a very areas which didn't match as much but you can get the just of want he intended to happen. As youll see the characters aren't in great detail but that doesn't matter at this stage, all that matters is that it makes sense and gives an idea of what your intentions are for your video.
This next clip is from Despicable Me2 the scene when the two minions are playing golf and they hear a noise and they go outside and one of them get up ducted. From this clip I can see that this storyboard has a lot more detail but very little movement, its not as flowing as the above one but its also very effective and it could
This is an animatic storyboard that the Gorillaz done for their music video Dirty Harry. This is something similar to what i am going to do because there's the music playing behind the pictures.
