Research- Green Screen Adele

For this task what we had to do was to take footage that had been filmed on a green screen and put in on Adele's music video to Rolling in the deep. We had restrictions that we had to comply with,  which were that Adele was not allowed to be in the music video,  which meant that we had to look for areas where she wasn't visually there. Luckily there was another character in the video who took up quite a lot of screen time in the video and thats where i got the majority of my footage from.

To begin with i had no clue on how i would take a recorded clip on a green screen and change it so that it looks like its imbedded in the music video.  after finding out a little more about how to do it, i found it very easy to do it. They're three main things that are crucial, which are having access to Premier Pro also having a 'keying' tool on your video effects area which will lead you to find Eight-Point Garbage Matte which basically lets you crop a video to the standard with you want, they're other Garbage Matte which you can use such as the Four-Point and the Sixteen-Point but for this exercise i only used the Eight-Point on both the green screen videos. When i got to this bit i had a bit of a problem because what i had to do was to play with those numbers to try and crop the videos which found very hard and time consuming, a quicker and much more effective way is to click on that square on the left side of the Eight-Point Garbage Matte section and that will enable you crop much easier because it gives you eight circles located around the footage that you want to crop and from there you can start cropping out the green bits that you will not need.

As you can see from the on that i done the circles are located around my footage. However a key thing to remember is to make sure that you adjust your green screen to the movement the character does. Thats why mine appears to be more spread out and not tight on the character, this is because my character moves around and if i did adjust my circles that character would be cropped out of the shot.

The above picture is what it looks like after i have cropped out the green that i don't want. The next step is the ultra key which enables you to delete a colour that you don't want and using it enable me to be able to delete the green screen from the footage.

The Ultra key is located in the same place as the Garbage Matte and from there you just click that tool across the 'Key Colour'  section and take go and click on the green screen colour and that will remove it and make it look like this.

Those are the steps i look to remove the Green Screen and i now find it very simple and easy to do.

The next step was putting the green screen on top on the Adele video and all there is to that is you have to put the Green Scene footage above the Adele video and it looks like this.

The Final Project

This is what my final edit looks like when it has been completed.
